A cilindrical vase by Carstens Keramik with a red high gloss glaze, 'fat lava' drippings over a grey matte glaze. The inside of the vase has a dark brown high gloss glaze finish. The original Carstens label is missing, but traces of it can still be seen. Artistic directors were Trude Carstens (active 1947-1965) and Rudolf Christmann (1966-1968). Carstens only made a limited number of each vase design.
