Libochovické candle holder
A clear glass candle stick holder from Czechoslovakian glass factory Libochovické sklárny.
This particular model 2261 was featered in a 1950's catalog. Some may date from the 1930's.
The glassworks were established in 1912 by Josef Feigl and Ladislav Morávek. From 1965 Libochovické glassworks were part of the Sklo Union. Next to the output of utility table glassware, decorative glass was boosted by several glass designers creating patterns and profiles (some of which are still in production today). Artists such as Rudolf Jurnikl, Václav Zijíc and Adolf Matura (famous for his Two faced vase design) designed for Libochovické and were part of the Czechoslovakian 1960-1980's invigoration of decorative pressed glass output in the Rudolfova Hut, Heřmanova Hut and Rosice factories.
