Nimy Impériale et Royale brush box

A bright orange brush box with golden accents on rim.

Faience de Nimy has sales points in Brussels, Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp and Lille. A lot of pieces resemble/imitate work by the Boch factory in Luxemburg. Nimy even signed their pieces 'BL' to the Boch family's great chagrin.

Although originally founded in 1789 Nimy was no longer independant after the First World War. Displacement of workers and the damage to factory halls when German troops were stationed there forced a sale to the Société Céramique de Maestricht in 1921.
