Oskar Tieberghien artwork

This simple feminine face with subtle green highlights is a beautiful example of the work of refined ceramic artist Oskar Tieberghien (º1938). It is intended to be wall mounted. It is an earlier work of Tieberghien, the artist's signature is handpainted. Later work was signed by the use of stamps.

Tieberghien studied at the Saint-Luke School of Architecture and Fine Arts in Ghent under Joost Maréchal (1911-1971), a pioneer of modern ceramic art in Belgium. After graduating he founded his own workshop in Eeklo, Belgium.

His oeuvre consists of not only works with vibrant colors and geometric patterns but also highly stylized and decorative female figures and faces which are considered to be some of Tieberghien's best works.
