Cubis vase by Scailmont
This exquisite Cubis vase by Belgian glass factory Verreries de Scailmont (Manage, Belgium) is and example of the aesthetic of Interwar glass production in the Hainault region. Its clean Art Déco lines are typical of the modern pressed glass designs produced under the supervision of Henri Heemskerk who was chief designer at Scailmont from 1924 to 1951.
This model (along with other popular Scailmont and Val Saint Lambert items) was often imitated by Czechoslovakian glass manufacturers.
